I forgot all about the blog! Ava has turned 1 already and we had a blast at the gym. She is still not eating well, but we keep trying. She has had several ear infections, a reaction to one of the meds that gave her hives, but she seems to be doing fine now. She has also traveled to Florida to visit Grammy and did quite well on 2 very long, delayed flights. She has 8 teeth already and seems to be getting another. Other than that, I have been working a lot and searching for a new pad. We need more room now that Ava is so active and running everywhere.

We are nearing the end of the year and I am FINALLY finding time to post on the blog. Ava is changing and doing so much now. She is officially walking without assistance and cannot sit still for a minute. We took her to a baby gymnastics class and she outsized most 15 month olds. She is loving to be stimulated by outdoor parks, gym classes, play dates and holiday parties. She attended her first charity event, a PJ party for the Pajama Program I hosted at our offices in Marin and will go to her first cookie party next Friday. We have been meeting other moms and kids in our play group and have been enjoying it. She still loves to pull on Cooper, but is getting better. I realize now, that we need a much bigger place just so she can play in a yard, walk around more and discover new things. I think we'll move next year. The hunt has started for her first bday party, these places are expensive!!! We just don't have room for a party and the park by our house is a pooping ground for doggies.

We spend Thanksgiving in LA with grandma, grandpa, gigi, bombpa, auntie sarah and mike, olivia, aunt carol and triple g. We will go down again (in our new car) for Xmas and I have 12 days off in a row!!!! Ava and I will stay until the 31st, Daddy will come home for Cooper. We also bought our first Xmas tree!

November 10

Halloween was a success! We went to Bon Air Shopping center to trick or treat at all the shops. Then we went to Marcella's to watch all of the kids come trick or treating in Novato. No candy this year, but she was fascinated by the glowsticks. She didn't quite understand what was going on and was scared of the "werewolves" that came to the door. We are now having a visit from Grandma! I took the day off of work tomorrow and we are going to go to the zoo.

October 27- almost Halloween!!!

As usual, we have been extremely busy with work, travel and life. Erik started his new job, our new nanny began this week and Ava & I just returned from a 4 day visit to LA. We have been carving pumpkins, trying to stay dry with all the rain, watching the Giants make it to the world series and playing a lot. I think Ava is teething again, not sure which teeth will come in next. She is pulling up, walking around the table, still babbling, trying to stand without the help of a table (letting go of my fingers and standing by herself!), eating (FINALLY!!!) and being an overall joy. We are awaiting the arrival of her first Halloween- she'll be dressing as a lady bug.
While in LA, we went to the LB aquarium with her friend Shane, played with Meryl, visited with Gigi, Bompa, Grandma, Grandpa, Triple G, and Aunt Carol. The time went by way too fast and we were delayed 2 hours at the airport. Ava did surprisingly well considering, Mommy on the other hand was a stress case.

October 4

Today is our 2 year anniversary! I have no idea where that time went. Ava ate solids today, I can only assume that she was teething for a MONTH and didn't want to eat. Now that her teeth are in (crooked mind you), she must have found her appetite.

October 3

Ava officially has two new teeth! Her bottom teeth both came on Friday and that explains her super fussiness. She also is doing well at her swim class. She loves playing with Lyla and Riley. Aunt Claudia and Uncle Ron came for a visit and we went to Fisherman's wharf and the nickel arcade. The search for a nanny continues, we have a last interview tomorrow. Finding care for her is very difficult. We had her in a school, but upon our trial run, found that she might need more one on one care. Wish us luck!

Obviously there isn't enough time in the day for blogging! It has been forever since I last wrote. We had a visit to LA on the airplane, attended Olivia and Giselle's bday parties in one day! She was so exhausted that she slept from 5:30-5:30 last night. Today we start swim lessons with Lyla. She is squeaking and laughing and really finding her voice. She is crawling on her stomach and still wants to walk very badly! She can balance on her legs while holding on to the coffee table, but can't pull up yet. I swear her teeth are going to come in, but I've been saying this for the past 3 months. The one thing that I am concerned about is that she isn't eating solids anymore. She was doing great, but now refuses to open her mouth. I've tried everything, but she still won't do it. Every type of food has been tried- she especially won't eat mashed avocado or bananas. How is it that one day she was eating 2 jars full and now she won't? Erik and I also had our first date night, a girl I work with babysat Ava. She did great and I only worried once. We saw the David Gray/Ray LaMontagne concert.
